Simon is a multi-award winning international writer/director and has 10 year’s experience within the independent film industry spanning short films, features and corporate. Simon surpassed all expectations with his debut feature film, Poor Wee Me (2010) which he wrote, produced and directed and self-financed for £1,400. He then self-distributed with Independent Cinemas giving Q & A’s throughout the UK.
Simon’s second feature film, GirlShapedLoveDrug (2012), went on to claim 5 international awards, 2 of which won best film at the European Independent Film Festival and the India Independent Film Festival, along with best screenplay. His most recent film, The Caravan, (scheduled for release in March 2015) has been selected for distribution by London based Premier Entertainment . Simon’s next film, Nebula, is currently in development and principle photography is planned for 2016.
Simon was the foudning festival director of the Greater Manchester International Film Festival, and judged at the ECU European Independent Film Festival 2014.
